Correction of the image quality during or right after the scanning process causes a substantial improvement of the recognition of documents. This module is especially important for systems using handwriting recognition.

EasyForm-Filter has several functions: removing noise, deskewing images and "black border removal". It is also possible to remove the background of documents with EasyForm-Filter. This functionality is important for applications using several types of forms, e.g. for mail-order companies or poll offices.

Two important functionalities of EasyForm-Filter are the colour filtering and the predictive adaptive tresholding (PAT) on grey tone images. Integrated with the recognition (see further on EasyForm-Reco and EasyForm-Expert), with these techniques it is possible to acquire a very high degree of recognition, also with documents of bad quality.
